The recent KGB (Kingdom of God Builders) camp was something I least expected but gained much from. I was truly touched and also made realize in my walk with Him. For me, I learn more about Christ at times through observing the natural surroundings and see what God is painting for me. I picked up two lessons.

One of the mornings during breakfast, many of the youths were hovering over the outdoor balcony because there was a snake laying itself in one of the drain pipes, that mainly caught everyone’s attention. There was a malay man who was trying to pull the snake out but to much of his desire, the snake wouldn’t budge. So there I was, sharing that moment with Uncle Steven Low and I said, “You can learn a spiritual lesson here”. He replied, “Amen”. While everyone was going hype over the snake, I started drawing out the implications.

The standing wall was filled with many drain pipes. I realized our hearts are very much like that wall. If we drop our guard and allow a small opening, the evil one (serpent) can lay rest in our hearts. Usually, he doesn’t really attack us, he just sits in and gets comfortable without even us realizing it. One can try to pull it out but as the man tried so, it became difficult.

This comes in line with what one of the speaker said which is something I’ll take heart for next year. He left us with the 3 R’s – Remain, Remove, Rearrange.

There are some things that need to remain, some needs to be removed and needing to rearrange some other things in your life. I felt that spoke very strongly to me and I’m sure to many others too.

As I look towards the new year, I plan to honour God with my time, the time that I’m blessed with. My baby steps in my faith needs to take a bigger leap, I am comfortable with where I am but I need to develop myself more.

The second spiritual lesson for me came while running around the beach during Beach Olympics. I noticed that there is a dry shore and wet shore on the beach. And, the waves from the ocean came consistenly toward the wet shore. As I stepped on the dry shore, many prints were left but if when I step on the wet shore, my prints will be washed away and the shore itself will remain clean. God’s love and mercy is pretty much like that, new every morning, comforting you if only you will go to Him. Whatever sins that we may have, whatever stains that you feel unclean about, take that step towards the wet shore, because His love comes continuously washing your sins away….

Which ends my entry with the word….HOPE. There is hope this Christmas and to the new year ahead. With the hope we have in Him, may some things remain, while others remove and rearrange the priorities in your life :)

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year 2006 everyone!!!!!
